Bright & Company (Bright) is an independent energy company engaged in the exploration for, and acquisition and production of, oil and natural gas reserves.  Bright & Company, and its predecessor, Bright & Schiff was formed in 1948 with the joining of two college roommates, H. R. (Bum) Bright and H. G. Schiff.  Almost from its inception Bright has been technically grounded.  Since that time it has expanded in this area by building a team of industry professionals composed of petroleum engineers, exploration geologists, accountants, petroleum landmen and other key industry personnel.  This technically based effort allows Bright to develop projects from inception of the prospect, through development, and on to monthly production activities.

Bright maintains an active staff of industry professionals to maximize its opportunities for participation in a broad spectrum of oil and gas ventures.  It is a combination of these diverse individuals that allow Bright to successfully compete in projects that range from purchasing and marketing existing reserves to taking geological prospect ideas through prospect generation, engineering development, lease acquisition, drilling, completing, producing and operating.

Based on the “hands on” technical approach taken by Bright, coupled with dedication to the bottom line, Bright has been able to survive in this volatile and difficult, but highly profitable industry, as well as many other industries, for over 55 years.

Bright & Company and its affiliates, are involved in many different industries, in addition to oil and gas.
Through affiliates, Bright is, or has been, involved in farming and ranching, equipment leasing, transportation, real estate development, retail and commercial banking, mini-warehouse development and operation, office development and operation, multi-family development and operation, mortgage banking, manufacturing, gas gathering, property and casualty insurance and health care operation as well as numerous small private investments .
